Gioia was born in Zürich, Switzerland and grew up between Switzerland, Mexico, and the United States. She graduated from Virginia Commonwealth University and  holds a degree in Communication Arts.

She started her career in the film industry in the United States where she was lucky enough to work side by side with some of the most successful members of the film industry. Drawing off her experience in movies she transitioned into the advertising, branding, and experience world.

Her experiences includes working with film unions and agencies such as, IATSE 487 (USA), Crispin Porter + Bogusky (USA), Wirz/BBDO (CH), MCH Global (CH), and is currently at KLAR (CH). 

Gioia approaches design by combining her traditional background as an illustrator and painter with modern techniques and perspectives. Living abroad has broadened her perspective, giving her a unique ability to understand others and their needs.
